Within the enclosure of the Castle of Arraiolos lies another historical gem: the Church of São Salvador, which predates the castle itself. One of its chapels is dedicated to Nuno Álvares Pereira, the 14th-century Portuguese general known as the “Santo Condestável,” who once lived in the area and held the title of Count of Arraiolos.
